The largest private-sector development in Bolivia: 4 towers and 106,431 m².
The Torres del Poeta are a complex of 4 towers totaling 106,431 m² built, which makes it the largest private-sector development in Bolivia. Two of its towers are among the tallest buildings in the country, the largest reaching 180 meters. The towers were named in commemoration of poets of great renown in Bolivia's history.
In tall buildings, the horizontal wind and seismic actions are the largest forces the structure must resist. The wind action depends on the building's surfaces, shapes and height and on its urban surroundings. Seismic actions are even more complex: their value depends not only on the ground acceleration, but also on the mass, stiffness and damping of the structure, which determine its modes of vibration. Both loads are random and complex to handle.
Our work consisted of verifying the seismic capacity of the towers. The analysis made it possible to implement improvements that, although inexpensive, significantly increased that capacity.
We design, calculate and verify structures in Bolivia and abroad, in person or remotely.
