Galindo Ingeniería is a Bolivian structural engineering firm founded in 1960. Under the direction of Dr. Ing. Mario Galindo, Ph.D. Cum Laude from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, we apply advanced numerical methods, finite element analysis and high-precision in-house software to solve challenges of high structural complexity.

Our portfolio spans iconic high-rise buildings, steel domes up to 140 m in diameter, industrial infrastructure and civil works. We have collaborated with multinational corporations, leading companies in Bolivia and government and international organizations.

Structural engineering essentials for your project

Structural calculation is the engineering process that determines the dimensions, materials and reinforcement of every element of a building (foundations, columns, pillars, beams and slabs) to guarantee its resistance to seismic, gravity and wind loads. In Bolivia it is an essential requirement to obtain the construction permit and must be carried out by a licensed structural engineer.
The ideal approach is to bring the structural engineer in from the preliminary design stage, in coordination with the architecture team. This makes it possible to optimize the structural system, anticipate clashes and reduce costs before construction begins. Their involvement is also essential for extensions, refurbishments, damage diagnosis or the verification of projects developed by third parties.
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a collaborative working methodology that integrates all project information into an intelligent three-dimensional digital model. In structural engineering it allows disciplines to be coordinated, clashes to be detected before construction, materials to be quantified with precision and on-site errors to be minimized. Galindo Ingeniería implements BIM to deliver projects that are more efficient, better coordinated and free of construction conflicts.
Structural design in Bolivia is governed by the current national regulations, complemented by internationally recognized standards such as the ACI codes for reinforced concrete and AISC for steel structures. Galindo Ingeniería applies earthquake-resistant design criteria consistent with the seismic hazard of each region of the country, integrating international best practices into every project.
Structural optimization can generate significant savings in material consumption and construction processes while keeping safety margins fully intact. Through nonlinear analysis algorithms and in-house software, Galindo Ingeniería identifies the most efficient configuration for each project, which translates into a tangible reduction in the total cost of the structure without sacrificing its performance.
Structural pathology is the discipline that studies, diagnoses and treats the damage affecting existing structures: cracking, corrosion of reinforcement, differential settlement, concrete carbonation and earthquake-related damage. It is required when signs of deterioration appear, after a seismic event, prior to an extension or to assess the remaining service life of a building.
